Prepare the chicken. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
Mix the sauce. In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Cover the chicken. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Slow cook. Cover and cook on Low for 5–6 hours or High for 2½–3 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Shred the chicken. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker.
Coat with sauce. Stir the shredded chicken into the barbecue sauce until evenly coated. Let it cook for an additional 10–15 minutes on Warm so the chicken absorbs more flavor.
Serve and enjoy. Serve on toasted brioche buns, sandwich rolls, slider buns, baked potatoes, nachos, tacos, rice bowls, or over a fresh salad. Garnish with coleslaw, pickles, or sliced onions if desired.
